so sweet!

we are back in full swing now at creative inspirations and its time for another challenge.

this week we want to see something sweet.

how easy is that!

check out the design team for a very varied array of cards for this theme.

here is my take on it.....

Now I have to own up and say this memory box die comes out when I need to make a quick card.
Hubby had booked a surprise weekend away for my birthday so it really did mean I had to make something quick.

I used a clear pennyblack stamp and coloured it with my copic markers.
they don't come much 'sweeter' than this one, look at those adorable little faces.

so you can see how quick this card was to make and I rushed off to pack a weekend bag.
(well ok, 5 bags actually and yes hubby did moan about them) lol

We had a great time  and Tia loved the beach.
we looked at property for sale but didn't find our dream home this time. I will find the right place one day though.

I hope you will join us at creative inspirations and share your sweet little cards with us.

Petal Lu is our generous sponsor this week and is offering a £10 voucher for the winner.

good luck to everyone that enters.

Your Favorite Occasion?

What is your favorite occasion for making and sending cards?
That's the theme at creative inspirations this week.
Simple aye? just make somethin for your favorite occasion and enter it on mr linky
I had a good think about this one...
Christmas? we all love Christmas!
birthdays?
anniversary?
wedding days?
aww a nice get well?
its not easy to pick a favorite is it!
But I decided on this....

because I like to send a card for no reason at all, just to say 'hello'

This card is on its way to a friend who likes to watch the birds.

I stamped the Impression Obsession stamp and then heat embossed it, adding distress ink to the sky.
the same ink was used on the sentiment background and a smooches sentiment die.
then I cut a couple of tiny birds. I think the dies for those are from tattered lace but I'm not 100% sure.
my poor photography doesn't show off the card too well, its much nicer in the flesh with the glossy embossing.

What is your favorite occasion?
I'd love to see what you like to make and send so please join us this week.

thanks for stopping at my blog today.

this week we want to see some vintage desigs.

he's what I came up with...

I've used a Craft Individuals stamp which i'm guessing is called Sweet Memories.

I inked her up with Versafine Vintage Sepia ink and then added tea dye and vintage photo distress inks.
the image is cut using GoKreate die

I also used various others dies for the flowers and embellishments.
Where would we be without our die cutting machines!

oh where has this week gone? the time has flown by and its time for another challenge already.

this week at creative inspirations we would like you to did out your warm colours.

here is what I came up with....

Ive used Retro Flower punches in 3 sizes to make the flowers

this has got to be my favorite stamp, ive used her so many times and never get fed up with looking at her.

she is from Art journey stamps and can be found here the set is called Noel but she certainly isn't just for Christmas.
I bought these a good while ago but they arrive within a few days.
the frame die is an oval but ive tweeked it and made it into a square.

the sentiment comes in the same stamp set.

and of course I've used some warm papers from K&Co
finished off with an organza ribbon and bow.

I hope you will join us at creative inspirations this week. I love browsing all the entries and we have £10 voucher up for grabs from our generous sponsor CraftsULove

Pinterest challenge for august

hi guys, I'm back with my pinterest challenge project for august.
hm now do I call this august or july re-make?
if you follow my blog you will know I failed in july and just couldn't get my crochet bag right.
well, I no quitter!
I stuck with it and started again.
this time I changed to a smaller hook and read the pattern over and over and counted..... counted....and counted some more!
seriously, I can't tell you how important that counting is.
I'm so happy I stuck with it and my bag is now finished. yay!!!!
What do you think?
I'm over the moon with it and proud of myself for not giving up.
I've even made a lining for it. I used a pretty pillowcase and cut it to size.
then my dad gave me my mum's sewing machine and oh boy that was a whole new challenge of its own.
I haven't used a sewing machine since I was at school some 30 odd years ago.
I found a manual for the machine online which was a huge help.
I can't ask my mum to help me, even though she was always using her machine. she now has dementia so she can't teach me.
I did ok tho. LOL
the buttons came from woolwarehouse and so did the drops cotton yarn. it was only 80p for a 50g ball, what a bargain!
I need some more now.
note to santa.... I love all the colours!
(boy, I hope he reads my blog)
here are another couple of pictures of the bag.

I've bought some very thin 3ply cotton and started another bag, its coming out smaller and looks so cute.

here a sneak peek...

I'm loving the dusky pink colour.

I've found a cone of white cotton on ebay, its a bit grubby but was a great price so I'm going to chance making it then washing it.

question now is......

do I need to buy the black cotton for winter?
yes?
no?

leave a comment and let's have a vote.
at least I can blame my yarn addiction on you guys then and hubby might even forgive me. LOL

now back to the pinterest challenge...
please pop over to margarets blog and see what she has chosen to make for august.

EDIT>>>
Hi all i'm back with a little update.
We are very happy to welcome Carollyn to our challenge this momth.
She has an adorable project to share with us. Please pop and have a look on her blog here and leave her some love.
thank you xx

Sweet as Sugar Nellie

yay its time for a new challenge over at sugar Nellie and here is my latest DT card

I've used one of my favorite sugar Nellie stamps which is also available as a digi.

she is coloured with copic markers.

I used MS flower punches to make the flowes and various dies for the leaves.

the kraft card was die cut with Simon says Stamp die called Falling Hearts, I love it!

the sentiment is a die set called Hello Words from paper smooches.
oh and how can I forget my newest die.... the faux stitches border die set by Lawn fawn which I purchased from  www.Craftstash.co.uk
If you haven't used this site before pls check them out, they have some great offers and delivery was superfast!

watch out for my faux stitched borders because they will appear on a few more cards very soon. there are four borders in the set.

ok, so now its your turn, anything goes as long as you use a sugar Nellie image for this challenge.
