hi all,
i am one very happy bunny!
this week has been my birthweek, yes, a whole week!
it started on monday, hubby is on holiday from work so he said he would drive me to brightlingsea to visit my DoCrafts friend, Papercraftpat.
excited is an understatement.
we had a lovely day together, chatting crafts and having tea and fresh cream scones.
naughty but nice.
pat made me the most amazing birthday card and bought me some lovely pressies.
(thank you pat, you spoil me)
it was the perfect day and if that had been my birthday i would have been very content, but my birthday wasnt untill tuesday.
It started by opening all my lovely handmade cards from docrafts friends. thank you ladies.
my family spoilt me with loads of pressie and money to spend on crafts.
we had a lovely chinese in the evening.
my boys got me a pandora charm each with little boys hanging on them. they told me i now have my boys with me all the time. how sweet is that.
of course it wouldnt have been the perfect week if i hadn't have had time to fit in some crafting and this time my project was extra special.
i made it to the final 12 of the DT challenge over at Joanna Sheen.
can you image how excited and nervous i was? lol
i was sent an image. decoupage! omg, i've never tackled this before so i was way out of my comfort zone but having said that, i've always loved a challenge.
so i printed off my papers and got to work.
starting with some chocolate (brain food)
here is my card.
i used the easle style simply because its my personal favorite.
i used papermania purple paper for the matting.
i really did enjoy layering up the watering can image which can be found on JS site.
then i used a doohickey floral corner die. i just love this die and im finding loads of new ways to use it. watch this space!
i also used an ek 2 in 1 punch
the sentiment was mounted on a spellbinders tag die.
after making the card i still had half the image and loads of paper left.
well i really struggle to throw any paper away so i made a little gift bag and put a couple of packets of seeds inside.
this little bag is so simple to make. i might even do my first tutorial if anyone is interested.
i really need all the help i can get so if you like my project would you please leave a comment on the JS challenge site. have a look at the other 11 while you are there. im sure there will be loads of inspiration there.
all 12 creations will be posted here at 12 noon on monday 24th sept.
back to my birthweek....
hubby took me to costco and bought me a stack of 10 12x12 draws. no prizes for guessing what i will store in those! lol
then on friday hubby gets up and say's,
'would you like me to take you to oysterstamps'?
well i was in the car before he could put his shoes on!
i got some lovely yummy stash.
my birthday was a special one with a big fat zero on the end and i definiately got spoilt and will never forget it.
huge thanks to my lovely hubby and to my family and friends.
thank you for you support.
