Hello, can you believe its March already? boy this year is passing so quickly.
we have a new challenge over at creative inspirations today and this weeks challenge is to use something old.
we all have stuff tucked away in our stash that we haven't used for ages so this is the perfect opportunity to dig around and find something to use and fall in love with again.
for me it was this adorable little Newton Bear stamp.
He came free with the first craft magazine I ever bought in 2008
I remember it well because I needed a card for my son's birthday and couldn't find anything special enough so I thought maybe I could make him one. I've always been creative but never made a card before. The first step was to google handmade cards and it too me straight to DoCrafts. I spent a long time browsing and then drove straight to hobbycraft for some paper and glue.
If only I had known how expensive that trip was going to end up being.....
anyway, in hobbycraft I looked at the magazines and this little bear stamp jumped out at me and I had to have him. I had no idea about inks and markers back then so he sat in the draw for a long time but the lovely ladies on DC gave me all the help I needed.
Oh it makes me sad to think about DoCrafts now and how their stupid 'update' ruined their site.
thank goodness for dc refugees on FB!
so anyway..... I dug out Newton Bear again and used him on this weeks DT card..
I also used my Dimensions Fourth alphabet stamps that are pretty old now.
I used GoKreate dies to cut the card shape and I coloured my little bear with polychromo's
I hope you like him.
this is my mum's favourite colour so I'm sure she will be happy with it.
what have you got in your stash that you haven't used for ages?
we would love to see your creations and if you don't want to use old stash you could make a card with an old vintage feel to it instead.
I'll be checking out your cards and leaving a few comments and of course there is a prize up for grabs so please join us.
