Book Folding

My good friend Sarah Swire tempted me into trying book folding and I'm so glad she did.

this is my first attempt and it was fun.

what do you think?

this is the closest I'm going to get to an apple ipad.

now I need to find some more templates. I could become hooked on this craft.

April's pinterest project

hi I'm here to show you what I made for my 'April' project. As some of you know I have chosen to try out one thing each month from pinterest. Up till now I've done crochet items so I thought I'd go back to basics and make a card this time.

this is Daisy from Sugar Nellie. I wanted this stamp for over two years but couldn't find her.
then a docrafts friend asked if I wanted to buy her one. (thanks Paula Hollifield)

She is just soooo sweet and I can remember my sister teaching me how to make daisy chains many moons ago.
She taught me many other useful skills too.
( I cant peel a brussel sprout without smiling and thinkin of her)
but I'm sure you don't need to hear that old story. Oh I miss her so much.

ok, back to my card.

I found the original post here

I love how Delphine did the background with distress inks so this was an easy choice for me.

I cut daisy out and used 3D foam to give her a little lift and did the same for the clouds.

its a very simple card but I love how it turned out and I will be using this background technique again.

so thank you for the tutorial Delphine and CC designs.

My good friend MargaretD2 is playing alone with me on the pinterest calendar so please check out her blog to see what she has made. oh boy is she a talented lady or what!
I'd love to be able to make the gorgeous tatted items that she finds so easy to do.
(one day Margaret, one day)!

If anyone wants to join us please let us know so we can visit your blogs.
It doesn't have to be a crafty item, it can be cooking or cleaning, gardening or a health tip....
anything you find on pinterest that you want to have a go at.
And let us see the 'fails' aswell.
Yes I've had a few of those!
Like my magic carpet cleaning recipe, hmmm well we won't be trying that again and I'm still trying to convince myself the stain left there doesn't look too bad.
maybe i'll post pictures of that one day but not yet..... I need therapy to get me through it first!

seriously..... the panic when I couldn't get the baking powder out of my red carpet still haunts me.

lol

well that's all for today.

hugs Suzanne xx

Seeing stars

Hello, Happy Wednesday!

I'm in such a happy mood today, its a mix of lovely weather and new meds.

At last I'm starting to feel a bit more human again but meds are making me tired and a little strange so I really am seeing stars at times!

Stars is our theme at creative inspirations.

I chose a Sassy Cheryl digi again (well come on, you know I'm her number one fan)

you can find my image here

how cute is sassy sally?
I've used copic markers to colour her and cut lots of stars using xcut dies.

I cut the background layer with a GoKreate die and then used a sewing tracing wheel tool to make the criss cross design on the blue card. it work pretty well.

I've also added a few star shaped gems. Can a girl have too many stars?

I'm really going to enjoy seeing what you guys make this week and i'll comment on as many as I can please come and join us at creative inspirations and of course we have a great prize up for grabs again this week.

I hope the star theme continues now as I'm off to slimming world to get weighed. wish me luck!

I chose three flowers, three gems and three colours
is that OTT with the 3's?

I love how the embossing turned out, I used white embossing powder on the pink card.

I coloured the cute image with copic markers

She wore a Yellow Ribbon

happy Easter everyone,
I hope you enjoy the long weekend.

I always think about those loved ones that cant be at home during the holidays and thats where the inspiration for this card came from.

to all the troops away from home....
stay safe and remember you are loved by us all.

I just love this image from All Dressed Up.

I've also got this song going through my head which we have sung for Arsenal many times.
well I have got a hubby and two sons and I'm the only female so I had to learn didn't I. LOL

back to my card.....
I've used the digi image and coloured her with copics.

I've kept the card simple as I wanted the focus to be on the sentiment.

please pop over to creative inspirations and join us with the challenge this week.
you could win a great prize If Natalie picks your card.

thanks for stopping by and for any comment you might wish to leave.
