Sassy Santa

Hello,
I'm here with the last DT card for december

Creative Inspirations have a Christmas or new year theme for this week and I've kept mine plain and simple

I've used another Sassy Cheryl digi image and again I love it. I'm such a sassy addict!

I've printed the image 3 times and layered up sections of it.

coloured with my copics.

memory box star dies were added and a red mat but that's all so it really was very simple but I like the results.

I hope you will join our challenge this week as we won't have one until the 7th January now.

happy Christmas everyone. xxxx

Silver & White card

Hi fellow crafters, can you believe its December already!

I'm pleased it is because not only is santa on his way but its my turn to pick a theme for the challenge at creative inspirations blog.

I've chosen Silver & white only. no other colours please.

you can use this for Christmas cards of course but its also perfect for weddings and anniversary's and special birthdays..... oh so many more.

so please come and join us and Natalie has a gorgeous price up for grabs for the winner.
you can join in the challenge here

before I show you my card I would like to introduce you to my special guest designer this month...
my special friend, Sandra Crosfield.

she is a multi-talented lady and makes such beautiful creations.
please check out her blog and leave her some love.

I want to say a big thank you Sandy for being my Guest and welcome to Creative Inspirations.

you can see Sandy's silver and white card on her blog and here is mine....

I used a cuttlebug snowflake folder for the embossing and rounded two corners on each square then mounted on silver card.
the wreath is made with the MS branch punch. that has got to be my most used punch of all tie, I love it!
I cut tiny hearts from the silver card and used woodware tiny sentiments stamps and heat embossed with silver powder.
such an easy peasy card to make.

now its your turn...
I really would love it if you could join in my challenge and I promise to pop over to your blgs to look at them all.

hugs Suzanne x

Home Sweet Home card

hi, I'm back again to show you another card I've made using the Joy Crafts die again, I'm loving this one.

the door is hinged so I wanted to make a card with the door open and thought the best way would be a shadow box card.

this is the same design as my previous card, I used the Bricked embossing folder again

this is inside.
I made a Christmas tree using the MS branch punch. I did tell you that is my most used punch, right!

I added some gems and some die cut tiny hearts.

I used the sentiment as a door mat.

the shadow box shaped card is easy enough to make but if anyone wants a tutorial I work on it.

the door is a joy crafts die called Home Sweet Home and I got it from www.iconuk.co.uk
there are such a great company, superfast delivery and the dies are the cheapest I could fine anywhere online. they have a huge range from spellbinders, memorybox, joycrafts.... loads more.
check out their website but hold on to your purse!

thanks for stopping by again to look at my blog, I appreciate your visit.

christmas door card and homemade texture paste

hello, today I've been playing with homemade texture paste and I'm pleased with the results so far.
here is some of it on my latest card...

It's very simple to make.
I used a cheap PVA glue and mixed in a touch of white acrylic paint and then added some talcum powder, enough to make it thick and not too runny.
Give all a good stir and you're ready to go.
I just blobbed in the card with a paint brush and when it was in place I sprinkled on some white glitter
you could use any colour paint but I wanted this to look like snow so of course it had to be white this time. I've got a couple of idea's in head for other colours though so watch this space!
my poor photography skills have let me down again because this card looks so much better in real.life.

I used my new Joy Crafts die 'Home Sweet Home' to cut the door and Tim Holtz Bricked embossing folder to mount it on.
the wreath was made with MS branch punch and some gems.

sitting here looking at the card now and I'm wondering if I should add some sort of sentiment to it, what do you think?

right I better get to work on a few more doors while I still have the paste ready. as my dear old mum would say... Waste not, want not!

thank for stopping by

Challenge time at creative inspirations

Hi all,
It's challenge time again and this weeks at creative inspirations we would like to see your cards using brown and white combo.

I love brown cards so this was right up my street.

I used white pearlised card and kraft card, the combo workerd better than I thought it would.

CheeryLyn snowflakes are so cute, im loving this die.

star shaped carton was so easy to make. I found the instructions on good old pinterest.
this project is saved on my 'envelope board' pin board.
check it out here

I hope you will join us at creative inspirations  this week.

Home for Christmas

Hi all,
I've been playing with kraft card and embossing powders today, im a huge fan of both.

here is one of the cards I made....

I bought this stampendous stamp last year but it love it so much i'm using it again this year

the flowers were made using cheery lynn rose die B436 but only the leaves were used not the rose petals. it was very easy, just cut leaves in red and green and layer up. the centre is an EK punch and a gem. I love the detail on these leaves and didn't have to use my tan mat to achive it, just once though the bigshot.

well I'm off to make another card now while the better half is watching football. although how he does that laying on the sofa with his eyes shut is beyond me! lol

hope you are all having a crafty evening too.

Winter Wishes

Happy Sunday!

Its been a wet and dark day here in Essex but hubby and I decided to have a drive to the coast and do a bit of bird spotting across the marshes.
Hubby was happy and I took my crochet so I was happy too. although I have to admit I did like seeing the Hen harriers and short-eared Owls.

Check out hubby's blog by clicking on his photo on the right-hand side to see the photo's he took.

Back home in the warm not and I'd like to share my latest card with you. I just love this digi image

I used copics to colour the image and added lots of Frantage and crushed glass glitter. its so sparkly, I'm really happy with this card and will be trying it with other colour combo's soon.

you can find the image here

thanks for stopping by and for any comments you may wish to leave.

Count Dracular FROM Sassy Cheryl

This gorgeous little Dracular is far to cute to be spooky!
I love Sassy cheryls digi's, they are such a joy to colour and our challenge at creative inspirations
this week is to use Orange, Purple and black so this little Count was a must for me.

I used tiny hearts from memory box but couldn't find a die for little tiny bats so I just drew them myself on black card and cut them with scissors, I was pleased with the result.

I used some cheesecloth and coloured it black using a sharpie pen.

oh I do love this digi

We would love to see your black, orange and purple creations over at creative inspirations and of course we have a prize up for grabs, this week is a generous £10 gift voucher for Craftie-Charlie store. hmm what would you treat yourself to with that?

It would be great if you could leave me a comment to let me know you stopped by.

Spotlight card

Hi all,
Its challenge time again at Creative Inspirations and our clever design team member Sarah has chosen our theme this week and I love it!

the theme is 'In the Spotlight'.

I had to admit I hadn't seen a spotlight card before so Sarah showed me one she had made and I couldn't wait to get started.
Here is my card.....

I've used a Bugaboo mouse image to spotlight, how cute is he.

I coloured the spotlight circle with copics. I'm a colouring addict so I found it difficult to stop there but I love this idea and will be using it again.

I've used a Retro flower punch to make the flowers and a tattered lace die to make the little banner.

I hope you will be inspired enough to make a spotlight card and join us this week.
check out the other DT members for more inspiration.

Jingle all the Way

wow the weeks are flying by and its challenge time again already at Creative inspirations.

this week we have an optional sketch for you and our sponsor is

I hope you will come and join us again. we are seeing some lovely creations every week.

Here is my card...

I love this digi, he's so cute.

I had a little trouble colouring him, my E34 is almost dead! I've ordered a refill from Artifolk and to get free postage I had to add a few Sketch markers. oops!
a can never have too many copics tho...right?

I mad the baubles using various punches and spellbinders circles.
the punches were a corner MS punch with a loopy design so that was perfect to snip at and a Bunch punch Pear was snipped to make the top of the bauble.

so Christmas is coming and that means dark evening and maybe even dark days so I really do need to get to work on a light box to improve my photography skills, its been on my 'to-do' list for far too long!

hopefully my next photo will look amazing!
LOL

over you now crafters....
lets see what you make this week. we love visiting your blogs and seeing your creations so please join us.

hugs Suzanne x

Let It Snow

Hello,

I've been crafting and singing Christmas songs this week. I did decide it was still too early for me to put the Christmas tree up though LOL

It's lovely having all my glitter and sparkly ribbons out and I've treated myself to a new snokeflake die which I love.

I've used it on this weeks card for Creative Inspirations. The theme is spots and dots.

our sponsor is time4tea

I've used a gorgeous image which you can find here she is called Catching Snowflakes.

I used my new cheery Lynn snowflakes. you will be seeing these a lot more. the large snowflakes are from Marianne and I used a couple of spellbinders dies.

I also had fun playing with various Stampendous Frantage embossing powders. This is where my spots and dots come into it, I dotted the frantage everywhere! OMG I just love this stuff!

I really hope you will come and join in the challenge at Creative Inspirations this week. we love to see all your creations.

thank you for stopping by and I would love it if you could leave me a comment.
