i'm back from a really lovely weeks away, relaxing in the Norfolk countryside. I found us a beautiful barn to stay in and we all celebrated hubby's 50th birthday together.
It really was so perfect!
we didn't hear any fireworks either so our Tia was a happy girl too.
the barn was amazing and one morning we laid in bed watching a barn owl hunting not 10 feet away from us. hubby said its the most comfortable birdwatching he has ever done. lol
the bedroom window was huge and I could have stayed in the bed admiring the view all day! lol
check out hubby's blog for photos of the birds we saw here
but enough of that... lets get back to crafting and here is todays card...
well I've done it again grrrrrr!
can anyone tell me how to flip this photo the right way up?
seriously, I think I should give up blogging i'm rubbish at it!
this picture is the right way up in my saved folder but after 5 attempts at loading here I've had to give up.
I've used filigree delight die
floral ovals, both spellbinders.
impression obsession hearts die
and justrite grand sentiments stamp set.
thanks for stopping by and a huge thanks to my boys and their other halves for making last week so special.
(Michael & Lucy. Billy & Gemma, we love you all) x x
my dil asked me to make a thank you card for her teacher friends who gave her some gift vouchers for her birthday so I thought this woj image would be perfect.
she looked just like when she came home from her spending spree. (only her smile was bigger)
hi, Im here today to show you my new spellbinders die set.
its called Fanciful lattice and its a great size, approx. 5x7 inches so perfect for card blanks.
I chose my favourite kraft card for this one
adding white ink makes the frames stand out.
the smaller frame is also spellbinders, decorative labels 8 set and stamped that with justrite grand sentiments stamps using versafine vintage sepia.
the flowers are spellbinders bitty blossom set coloured with copics R20 R11and YG91
I mounted the kraft card onto a white blank to give me the tiny white border and because I prefer the inside of the card to be white rather than brown. its just a personal thing.
its that time of year again, you know... when its too dark to get good photo, unless you are a great photographer, which I am not so please forgive me for my poor efforts. one of these days I will get round to making a light box to see if that helps. its on my ever growing to-do list. why does that list never get any shorter even though I spend more than half my life crafting!
the clock has just chimed for midnight and for those who know me you will know this is my favourite time for cardmaking so guess what I am off to do now? lol
hello, I thought I better catch up with my blog posts, im slacking again!
so here is todays card.
I've used silver card which is so not like me but I think its worked well for this one.
I used grand labels 23 which I love and my favourite flower dies which are Heartfelt Creations Delicate Asters.
the swirls are Couture Creations and the lovely sentiment is from Our Daily Bread's 'Friendship' collection and the frame is a sizzix embossing folder.
i'm here to show you another card. this time I've used mostly Impression Obsession dies
from oysterstamps
this isn't a very good photo, i'll try to replace it when the light is better. (its raining again here)
the inspiration for this card came from my friend Abby, she sent me some lovely little white brads so I decided to colour them with pens to make them look like little apples.
(think i'll do cherries next time)
I used I.O dies Fence, bare tree and branch.
the cat is a poppystamps die.
I couldn't bare to through away the small length of fence that I had to snip off so I used it on the ribbon, hmmm is that 'bright' or just 'tight'? lol
right, im off to finish a scrapbook page now. oh I do love crafty days!
i'm here to show you a card ive made for our niece, she is doing a photography course at Uni so this image seemed perfect.
I used the sentiment dies I got from pink frog, I keep forgetting I've got these. lol
I also used my ms valentines punch, its one of my favorites.
I've used lots of grey copics to colour the image.
this image was in my files on my laptop but I cant remember what site I got it from. if anyone knows could you let me know so I can give the artist credit.
well i'm off now, I've got another card idea in my head that is bursting to get out so I better go and find some papers.
My blog posts are like buses, you don't see one for ages then two come at the same time!
(note to self.... must do better)!
So, here I am so quickly with another card, this time I've used Couture Creations butterfly die which is lovely. I had another idea pop into my head for this die while I was making this card so I may be back with that tomorrow.
I've also used the Couture Creations swirl die and mounted it onto cream card which I embossed using cuttlebug Chicken Wire folder.
the butterfly is cut in wine card and the wings sit up giving a lovely effect but they do lay flat for posting.
the frame is spellbinders resplendent recangles and the sentiment is whimsy. this card is my DT card for Oysterstamps so everything I've used is available from them.
check out their new arrivals, OMG they have some yummy new dies and stamps.
hmmm so, should I try out that butterfly idea that is in my head now? I won't sleep until its out of there will I.
I had to come and show you my latest card, I'm really pleased with this one.
I've been meaning to try white heat embossing for ages and finally got round to it. It won't be the last time I do it either!
here is my card
sorry about the poor photography again.
I've used Kraft card and layered it on white card.
I stamped the gorgeous Heartfelt Creations Aster stamp and then used the stampendous white embossing powder.....simples!
then I added a little colour using copics.
a white ribbon and a sentiment finished the card nicely.
this was such a simple card to make and very little colouring needed but I love the end result. that's such a rare thing for me to say about my own cards.
Hello, at last i'm feeling better and back to blog land.
I've made a Vintage wedding card today
I've used my new Heartfelt Creations die from spellbinders called Decorative Leafy Frame and backed it with some lace which doesn't show too well in the photo.
the photo is one I found on the internet with no copyright and cut out using spellbinders Opulent ovals. I haven't had a chance to play with these ovals properly yet but there are so many ways to use them. watch my blog for more idea's as I will give them another try tonight.
I wanted to show you the impression obsession heart stems but my photo's have decided to load the wrong way up and I have no idea how to put them right.
the heart stems are so delicate, I can see me using them a lot more.
grrrr another sideways photo showing the lalaland rolled roses and memorybox fresh foliage dies.
I used a little vintage photo distress ink to age the card.
Its a lovely sunny day here today, I wonder if my better half is making the most of it and having lunch with his new camera?
He does take lovely pictures though.
enough about his hobby, I'm here with my shaped card as promised on oysterstamps FB page.
I must thank all the ladies on there for the lovely comments on my cards. you know you only have to ask and i will do my best to help with any questions you have.
so a couple of ladies wanted to know the folds for this card....
i've used Our Daily Bread Dies and stamped imaged and memory box Nottingham border.
now, i don't claim to have any of my husbands photography skills so appologies for my photo's
start with a sheet 12cms x 30cms
and fold in half lenghtways
along the 30cm length, score at 6cm and 24cm
these are your two mountain folds
then the diagonal lines which are harder to explain....bare with! lol
put a mark on the 11cm point at the top and bottom of the paper and on the middle line mark 8cms. now with diagonal lines join them up.
do the same with a mark on the middle line at 22cm and outside edges at 19cms.
(am i making sense)?
the diagonal lines are valley folds.
this is what it should look like flat.
and this is the view from above.
now all you have to do is make some mats and layers in your favorite papers.
well, not your 'favorite' favorite papers beacuse we know we can't bring ourselves to use those ones.
(or is that just me)?
i used a large circle die to add my centre piece but an oval would look lovely aswell.
hello, i am suzanne, a craft addict!
i started making cards in july 08 and thanks to docrafts and all the lovely members i have learnt so much and made some lovely friends. Then DC went and made a ridiculous change to their site and spoilt everything for us. Many the DC members (over 300) of us now meet on facebook instead under the group name DC Refugees. (shame on you DoCrafts)!
I hope you find something you like here on my blog. please feel free to ask if you want to know anything about any of my projects and I would really appreciate it if you found the time to leave me some love in the comments box.
hell I could do with some love right now!
