I do hope so but now its time to celebrate the end of 2016 and the start of 2017
(I do hope it's a better year)

I hope you can find some craft time over the next fortnight and come and join us for the last challenge of 2016 at creative inspirations.

we have a sketch for you to follow but you don't have to use it.

I decided not to follow the sketch this time because I was desperate to try my new art deco frame die.

I love it!

I cut the frame into the card and popped acetate behind it and used my copics to colour the stained glass window.
I'll make a tutorial if anyone is interested.

I then put a tealight candle inside the card. don't worry, its battery operated so it start a fire.

this gorgeous die will soon be available from www.craftstash.co.uk
if you haven't checked out their offers yet, you are missing out!
get over there and find some bargains.

I hope you will find the time to join us at creative inspirations.

lets all say goodbye to 2016 by playing along in the same challenge.

happy new year everyone.

November Pinterest challenge

Hello friends and visitors, I'm here with my PinChicks challenge today, yes, I know i'm a day early but I didn't want it to clash with my Creative Inspirations challenge that goes live tomorrow.

so on to the pin which I have really enjoyed even tho it was an easy thing to make.

there is a little story to this pin...
a very good friend of mine (you know who you are) has been an absolute rock to me while ive been struggling and she ends every message with 'Chin up Chicken' and she told me that her dad always says that to her when she needs to hear it.
It makes me feel special that she would share a special family saying with me. like I said, she is a very special friend.

so I wanted to make her something to thank her for always being there and of course where would I look..... Pinterest of course!
and I found the perfect little chicken.

I have a set of heart dies so cutting the felt was easy and I hand stitched the wording, blanket stitched around the edge before stuffing him and adding a little eye.
he was very quick and simple to make but I was pleased with him and so was my friend. she deserves much more than a stuffed chicken but I think she knows I was thinking of her and her lovely dad the whole time I was making this.
I will keep her name private but I really do want her to know how much she has helped me througha dark patch.

there wasn't a tutorial for this chicken but its made from various size hearts dies and straightforward to put together.

so....
I felt a bit bad on my other talented pinchicks because I know they will be putting in a lot of time and effort on this months projects so I thought id share what else I have been making this month.
this is a pin I have used before but I loved the pattern so decided to make another one.

this is an across body bag. ive made this bag a few times now in various sizes but I just love this small one.

here is the link for the original pattern at little Monkeys crochet

check out her other patterns too, she is such a talented lady.

Talking of talented ladies please travel worldwide now and visit the other pinchicks to see what they have ben doing this month.

and

well that's it for tonight but please pop back tomorrow to check out my creative inspirations card,

hugs for now

frosty florals at creative inspirations

Hello Crafty friends,
Its time for another challenge over at Creative Inspirations and we would love to see some frosty florals this time.

our sponsor is Petal Lu and there is a great prize up for grabs so please come and join us.

I've used my Altenew  Beautiful Day stamp set.

I've used watercolour paints to colour the flowers but its my first attempt at painting and I obviously need a lot more practice but I can say I did enjoy trying them.

I add some SnowWriter and some Twinklets Diamond dust to give a frosty look to the flowers.

the snowflakes are a die from Cheery Lynn and loooooove them!

the sentiment is from stamping up and I used some silver heat embossing powder. I will never get fed up with watching the powder melt and come to life LOL

I half cut the flowers out and then tucked a round nestability die under them. I'm pleased with how that worked out.

so this is my card and now its over to you....

please add your cards at Creative Inspirations

I am looking forward to visiting your blogs.
please leave me a comment so I know that you have been to visit me too.

Hugs Suzanne xx

September Pinterest challenge

Hi Pinchicks!

I'm running a bit late late today sorry.

I'm here now tho and I've been playing with string.

Hubby had to pop to the diy shop so I asked him to pick up a couple of balls of string for me and he gave me one of those looks....
you know the ones that silently says 'what on earth is she up to now'?

but he did as I asked and came home with the string so I set about my project...

the original pin had leather handles on the basket but I don't think hubby would have been happy if I cut up his leather belt.

I made the two smaller baskets with the left over string.

then I went on ebay and found s string seller and bought a huge 2 kilo reef of the stuff and I have next months all ready to go. Its not a basket tho.

its huge!

please pop over to the other pinchicks and check out there projects for this month.

if anyone would like to join us just find something on pinterest and give it a go. it can be anything at all.

thanks for stopping by.

Anything Goes at Creative Inspirations and the option of a sketch.

hello, happy Wednesday!

I have to start this post by saying thank you to everyone who joining in this fortnight, we had some amazing creations. I love visiting your blogs so please keep joining us.

this fortnight is a favorite with sooooo many of you, its Anything Goes and we are expecting a huge turn out. I get exciting thinking about all you clever people I get to meet.

Some of you will know that my furbaby has had surgery so I've spent every second keeping an eye on her and making sure she doesn't touch her stitches. We did try the lampshade collar but it was way too stressful and when she fell down the stairs in it hubby decided that was enough! I'm surprised he didn't chuck it in the bin!

so with my eyes fixed on her I didn't get much chance to craft so I decided not to spend a lot of time colouring an image. we can still make nice cards without image right?

I used Memory Box Fresh Foliage die.

I used a book page for the backing. I find it so hard to tear pages from a book, it goes against everything I have been taught. I've always looked after my books.

the sentiment is from a set called Be Happy Sentiments from AmyR stamps.

this is a very simple card and I followed the sketch which is available on the blog today, although I didn't add the flowers. I'm sure you can do better than me.

please come and join us at Creative inspirations. Oh and as always we have a prize up for grabs.

I really would appreciate it if you could leave me a comment to let me know you came to visit me today. thank you xxx

happy crafting, Suzanne xx

Pinterest challenge time!

Hello, happy Wednesday!

Its the last day of the month which means its pinterest time again.

if you don't know what on earth i'm talking about well, a few of us crafty ladies pick a project from pinterest and give it a go. It can be anything... gardening, cooking, crochet, tatting, cardmaking or something completely random that takes your fancy. Household cleaning hacks are also allowed but I haven't seen many of those...I wonder why! LOL

I better start with my 'excuse' this month....

I've found it difficult to head in the right place because I have been dealing with my furbaby Tia.
oh I love her to bits!

I found a lump and the vet said it will grow but wont spread so because of her age we decided to wait and see if it did actually grow before putting an old lady through a nasty surgery but sure enough that horrible lump grew so on Friday by baby went under the knife.
She is so brave and so strong and just 3 days later she acting just like her normal gorgeous self.

a day out in Norfolk before her surgery day.

the dreaded lump!

home from the vets and still very sleepy and just wants to be near us.

I'm happy to give her lots of cuddles.

and so is daddy!

the next day and Tia is feeling tired and sore...

Sunday and she is up and about and watching out for those pesty pigeons!
She now back to her happy self!

fingers are crossed for good results from the vet and all the lovely messages that have been sent are very much appreciated. THANK YOU!
keep her in your prayers for me.

ok, sorry crafters, are you still with me or did you get bored with the doggy talk?

on to my pin....

I've been looking at all the pins for art journals and I really love them.
the trouble for me is I don't go out very often so I don't have any interesting places to journal about.
I seen lots of Journals with nice uplifting words and words of appreciations in them but i'm struggling with my own dark cloud at the moment so that wasn't going to work for me either.
then I was sorting out my book shelf to see which books I could pass on to another reader and I picked up a very old little dictionary and like a lightbulb in my head I decided to use that for a sort of art journal... an art dictionary!

my book it old and only 4inches but I love it!
i'm putting my stamps to good use and lots of different mediums. Its so much fun and its going take me forever to fill it up.

the BEACH

a BOAT

C is for COFFEE

I like COFFEE

more coffee

D is for DAISY

this is one of my favorite stamps. no, scrap that, it IS my favorite stamp!

r is for ROSE

I loved doing this page

stamping across two pages isn't easy tho.

As you can see I haven't done many pages yet but I am loving it and I have many more pages stamped and ready to go so I will add them to my pin challenge blog post each month as a little extra. I'll still make a new pin each month of course. I've already got Septembers pin ready to start.

please take the time to pop over to the other members blogs to see which pin they worked on this month.

and

If anyone would like to join us in this monthly challenge please let me know so I can add a link to your project each month.

thanks for taking the time to stop by today and sorry for waffling on so long.

Hello Friends and Visitors,

as the title suggests its it looking like Christmas at Creative Inspirations so please get out your festive stash and come and join us...

here is my card...

this photo doesn't really do it justice.

I tried my new Gamsia watercolour paints but it didn't really work the way I imaged it.

I think it needs some bling.

i've used Art Journey stamps and gold embossing powder.

I must admit I did groan a little when Natalie said this fortnight would be Christmas and she just laughed at me.
BUT...
I've got the glitter and sparkle bug now and want to make more Christmas cards....
I might even get my Christmas cards finished early this year.
hmm don't your hold your breath! Haha

I hope you will come and join us in the challenge and you could win a great prize from our sponsor.

Pinterest Challenge for July

wow its the end of july already, how did that happen?

I've neglected my blog and my crafting this month due to ill health but I wont bore you with that.

I did manage to get my pin finished BUT I have to owe up and tell you that It didn't end up as planned.

I have been collecting ring pulls/soda tabs as I just knew I would end up wanting some one day (you know we all do that sort of stuff don't we.)

So I got my ring pulls out and searched pinterest, who knew you could make SOOOOOO many different things, jewellery, clothes, YES clothes!

I chose a nice bag. long strap and fold over flap. It looked easy enough.

But.....

It wasn't as easy as I though. It just turned out to be such slow work.

Then I took a day off and went to visit my parents. Now anyone who knows my dad will know he is the sort of man that doesn't let you leave his house without taking something with you.... biscutes, sweets or in my case a lamp!
yep, he gave me a little desk lamp which I put in the back of my car but on the way home it got damage.....

My gorgeous Tia sat on it!
look at the state of this lamp shade.
It wasn't Tia's fault, she can do no wrong in my eyes. LOL

so that's when the idea came to me that I could change my pin and make it into a shade.
I had already got this much done so I didn't want to start all over again and do it as the pin said so I carried on with the original bag pattern method.

I used the crochet method to join the pulls.

the finished lamp.

and it works!!!

But I really don't like it.
I've finished it because I didn't want to blog another fail this month but now its finished i'm going to take it all apart and start again. I'll use a different method for joining the pulls which can be found here

when its finished I blog it so you can see the improvement.

now if you have time please pop over to the pinchicks and see what they have made this month.

I hope you can spare a moment of your time to leave them some love.

hugs Suzanne xx
